West Virginia's Lawsuit Climate
According to a recent survey, West Virginia's lawsuit climate has been rated as the most abusive in the country.
A reputation like this wasn't earned overnight — and it won't be fixed quickly.
That's why it's important that West Virginia's leaders continue to fight for meaningful reforms to the state's legal system.
Why?
For one thing, the state's lawsuit climate may discourage businesses from creating new jobs here in West Virginia. In fact, almost two-thirds (67%) of survey respondents say that "the litigation environment in a state is likely to impact important business decisions" such as where to locate or do business.
Right now, West Virginia needs more jobs — not more lawsuits.
